In 2015 the Alliance began an effort to create trauma-informed organizations following the Sanctuary Model. The Sanctuary Model is a blueprint for organizational change that, at its core, promotes safety and recovery from adversity through the active creation of a trauma-informed community. In 2016, as part of that effort, a Healthy Workplace initiative was launched in two of the Contra Costa Employment and Human Services Department Bureaus (Workforce Services and Children & Family Services). This work continues to be expanded throughout all of Employment & Human Services Bureaus.
